book nowFalmouth and its surrounding area play host to some of the best country and coastal walks in Cornwall, enough to keep any rambler happy. The south west coastal trail, picturesque Helford River and a network of winding rural footpaths reveal the secrets of the landscape in all its natural scenic beauty.

Many walks, such as the coastal path and walks around the north Helford, are on the doorstep of Pendra Loweth, while others are only a short drive away.

We have detailed a couple of local walks below just to get you started. For more information on exploring our beautiful surroundings, call the Pendra Loweth office on 01326 312190, or visit the following recommended websites:

maenporth

Pendra Loweth to Maenporth Beach

No trip to Falmouth is complete without a walk to Maenporth. This is an easy route along a country lane that takes approximately 20-30 minutes.

Walk down to the bottom of the park past the tennis courts and take the bridlepath. When you reach the lane, turn right opposite Pennance Mill Farm and continue until you come to Maenporth Beach.

swanpool

Pendra Loweth to Swanpool Beach and back

This walk takes roughly 90 minutes and the footpath is uneven and steep in places. There are styles and kissing gates to negotiate but it’s a lovely walk and well worth the effort.

Take the route above to Maenporth, bear left at the Maenporth Beach Café and take the coastal footpath, keeping the sea on your right.

Follow the path around the edge of the golf course for beautiful sea views and Stack Point. Further on, you will see Pendennis Castle perching above Falmouth, Falmouth Bay itself and the lighthouse at St Anthony's Head. The path dips and ends just above Swanpool Beach, where you can walk down to the sandy lagoon for refreshments before taking the road to the left. Turn left again by the 'Pitch and Putt' to get back to Pendra.
